There are some sins in my past that I still can't forgive myself for. Even though I know Jesus forgave me, my brain constantly tortures me with the memories. The shame feels physically heavy. I was reading about the Day of Atonement in Leviticus 16. The high priest would take a live goat. He would literally lay both his hands on the goat’s head and confess all the wickedness, rebellion, and horrifying sins of the Israelites. He spiritually transferred all that filth onto the animal. Then, they didn't kill it. They banished it deep into the desert, sending their sins completely away from the camp, never to be seen again. Jesus is our ultimate scapegoat. He didn't just forgive my sin; He physically carried it out into the wasteland. When the devil tries to remind me of my past, I have to remember that those sins are already wandering in the desert. They aren't in my camp anymore. #Forgiveness #Leviticus16 #TheScapegoat #GraceWins #LetItGo
